Basic Eligibility

To get a visitor visa, you must meet these core requirements set by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). Every application is unique — we assess your full profile to give you the best chance of approval.

  • Hold a valid travel document (e.g. a valid passport)
  • Be in good health
  • Have no criminal or immigration-related convictions
  • Demonstrate strong ties to your home country — such as a job, home, assets, or family
  • Satisfy an officer that you will leave Canada at the end of your visit
  • Have sufficient funds to cover your stay
